The Specialist Community Public Health Nurses are commonly known as Health Visitors and District Nurses. This specialized group of practitioners includes many Occupational Health Nurses and School nurses.
Clinical Nurse Specialists usually provide the education and clinical leadership for their departmental Staff Nurses. They also have the special knowledge and skills that ward nurses draw upon when questions arise.
Nurse Consultants practice at a higher level than Clinical Nurse Specialists. They are responsible for the training and clinical education their departmental staff. Many have also been involved in active research. They also are active in publication activities.
Lecturer-Practitioners are nurses who work in the NHS and universities. They train student nurses in pre-registration and specialist courses for post-registration nurses, they may also teach on a Masters degree in critical care nursing. They are more commonly known as Practice Education Facilitators.
Lecturers are nurses who are not employed by the NHS. They work full time in universities performing research and teaching. Lecturers in Nursing have a a Masters Degree or PhD. They are called Professor or School Dean or Department Dean.
Many nurses who have worked in a clinical setting for a long time join the ranks of NHS Management. However, more are choosing to become Nurse Specialists as these are more attractive options.
There are many Nursing Jobs open to applicants which can include but are not limited to radiography jobs, Cardiac Physiology Jobs and Occupational Therapy Jobs.
